Even as people complain about Apple recycling designs, a small change in 2022 has earned it the admiration of the makers of Android devices — the introduction of the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The addition was a replacement of the traditional notch with an animated island that displayed notifications in the most clever way. Dynamic Island showed how graphics and animations can redefine notifications.
Shortly, after Apple introduced its new notch, Android developers scrambled to create a similar-looking feature. Using third-party apps on Android smartphones, one can create a similar notch on Android smartphones. Some Android companies have also incorporated a similar feature on some of their products.
If you are looking for an Android smartphone with a built-in Dynamic Island, here are some of the budget options that are worth considering.
Realme C53
The Realme C53, priced at Rs 9,999 is currently one of the best-selling phones under Rs 10,000. This phone has a feature called mini capsule, which mimics the iPhone’s Dynamic Island. Not only that, the triple camera setup at the back of this phone also looks similar to the camera island on the iPhone 14/15 Pro.
The smartphone is powered by the Unisoc T612 octa-core processor with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The smartphone also has a 108 MP primary camera, making it one of the most affordable smartphones with a camera sensor of this resolution. The device is fueled by a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging via the USB-C port. Similarly, you can also consider the Realme C55, although it does miss out on an iPhone-like camera module.
itel S23+
While the itel S23+ was not launched with a dynamic island, the company recently pushed a software update to add Dynamic Bar, which acts like a dynamic island. On top of that, this is also the most affordable smartphone in the market with a 6.78 3D curved AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Priced at Rs 13,999, the smartphone offers 8 GB RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. The device also has an iPhone-like camera island with a 50 MP primary sensor. The smartphone is fueled by a large 5,000 mAh battery with support for fast charging via the USB-C port.
Infinix GT 10 Pro
The Infinix GT 10 Pro (review), a budget Android smartphone, powered by the capable Mediatek Dimensity 8050 SoC recently got an update that added Magic Ring, which acts exactly like iPhone’s Dynamic Island. This smartphone, priced at Rs 24,999 offers a fast 120Hz refresh rate display with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
On top of that, this is also one of the few mid-range smartphones that still offers a dedicated microSD card slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone also has a stereo speaker setup. Plus, the Mirage Silver variant comes with a colour-changing back panel and it even has a Nothing Phone-like lighting on the back. More Infinix smartphones are likely to receive the Magic Ring feature with a software update in the coming days.
